REACT
RADIO EMERGENCY ASSOCIATED COMMUNICATONS TEAMS
REACT is a voluntary, non-profit organization geared toward providing two-way radio and communications in time of emergencies and disasters, as well as assisting in events such as marathons, cycle events, swim meets, concerts, cultural events, and other public-service type activities. The organization was formed in 1962 with CB radio as the technology. Today, REACT uses various forms of communications such as commercial LMR radio, FRS, GMRS, CB, Amateur Radio (HAM) to fulfil its mandate of "Public Service Through Communications".
REACT operates on the basis of chartered Teams and Councils that are located throughout the world in countries such as the United States, Canada, Philippines, Thailand and Trinidad and Tobago. Consider joining a REACT Team in your area, and if there is none currently, you can start a new Team with just 3 people.
In addition to the adult membership, REACT also has a Junior arm for persons under 18.
